Description
Hiking in the Wild North of La Palma
Still and secluded, that’s how the harsh North presents itself to us. A landscape flooded with light and fog, interspersed with bizarre barrancos and rugged ridges, which offers space for only a few settlements. Here nature is reduced to the essential, is still completely subject to the laws of wind and weather.
This path will make us experience the true essence of the north. Small isolated colourful houses, fields where everything grows, forest on the left, and amazing views of the coast on the right. Above us blue sky and at our feet this spectacular Camino Real will lead us the way until the little village of Gallegos, where we get the feeling that the time stopped here long time ago.

I booked the tour through gettivity and felt very well looked after. The two office employees have also competently responded to my concerns and wishes. The tour was beautifully landscaped, I learned a lot about the local nature through the guide Wim. It was exhausting, but beautiful. I can just recommend her. Little tip: Do not be too fine to take a walking stick. I, too, as an experienced wanderer, had used him actively on the screeching descents.

This was our third outing, which we planned in advance with gettivity. Since not all hikes are carried out daily or sometimes booked out with a limited number of participants, that was optimal. The hike we liked very much, the ascent and ascent through the gorge was very exhausting, but was worth it. Our guides Gabriella and Peter competently took care of everything and told a lot of interesting facts.
