Description
The main attractions of La Gomera
Together we explore the island by bus and thereby discover the most important landmarks of La Gomera. After a first stop at the Mirador de Palmarejo, the restaurant designed by César Manrique, we ride to the potterers of El Cercado, whom we’ll look over the shoulder. On we go via Chipude into the national park with direction to Hermigua.
On our way we’ll take a short walk, afterwards we ride to the village of Agulo, the Bombón de La Gomera, situated on a plateau. On we go to the visitors’ centre of the island, where we have lunch together. Then we ride back through the national park. A day full of impressions and contrasts ends with our return to Valle Gran Rey.

Kneth –
We were on Your ‘Round Trip over the Island’, joining at La Calera, on Tuesday, January 28th.
Our Guide was Brigitte, Bus Driver Oscar.
Unfortunately the Trip did not in total live up to our expectations based on Your website!
* ‘First Stop at the Mirador de Palmarejo’ – not sure that happened, at least the Guide
did not talk about any ‘Restaurant designed by Cesar Manrique’.
* The Guide talked a lot about the Table Mountain, but somehow we did not stop
to take pictures of it and the extraordinary landscape, although we saw from the bus
there was a very good ‘mirador’ especially for that purpose.
* There was nothing special about the potterers of El Cercado, because we never did get
any opportunity to look them ‘over the shoulder’, see them in work.
* Agulo was a big disappointment, because we weren’t shown any ‘Bombon’ aspects of the town – the bus just stopped in the backyards, outskirts of the town, below the glass pavillion, where there was not much to see.
* The Visitor’s Center of the Island seemed to be interesting, even impressive, but after a long local lunch
at Juego de Bolas you had time for only a quick look (no Guide activity). Sad.
* Wondering, why we never did ‘ride to the holy springs of Epina via Vallehermoso’!
Without explanations, and excuses we just went straight back to Valle Gran Rey.
Unbelievable!
So You have a lot to improve!
Brigitte as a Guide was very competent and informative, in both English and Deutsch,
even had some funny stories.
Oscar drove safely around the winding roads and wuthering heights.
Got some ‘impressions and contrasts’!
Could have been better!
By the way: Taxi Playa de Santiago – La Calera – Playa de Santiago was not cheap, 140.-€!
Our Hotel fixed it as an ‘offer’, but in fact it was normally priced! You cannot always trust!
So I think we had the right to be a little more critical.
Hopefully Towards Better Round Trips!
