Hike along the volcano route
The ridge hike on the Cumbre Vieja is one of the most spectacular natural experiences on La Palma. It also presents a physical challenge. On our hike through the bizarre lava landscape, formed over time by countless volcanoes, a large part of the island lies at our feet.
This is certainly one of the most spectacular hikes on La Palma. Volcanoes and viewpoints as far as the eye can see, all day long! We walk through black and red ash fields and enjoy extraordinary views all the way to Mount Teide. Initially, our hike is lined with dense pine forests, which we gradually leave behind as we reach the first crater, Hoyo Negro. A crater unique in its nature, but just one of many on our hike.

Important to know:
- Appropriate clothing and sturdy hiking boots are recommended
- Take food and enough to drink with you

- Los Cancajos - 08.30 am at the bus stop next to the pharmacy
- Santa Cruz de La Palma - 08.15 am at the bus terminal, stop for line 2
