The Heart of the Island & the Volcanoes: 6 hours (with driver without guide)
Departure from your desired location. First, we drive to the Mirador de La Concepción viewpoint. From there, we continue to the municipality of Breña Alta, whose cigars (puros palmeros) have an excellent reputation. We then drive up to the El Pilar Refuge, the starting point for the hiking trail known as the "Volcano Route."
Later, we stop at the Mirador del Jable viewpoint and continue to the visitor center of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and the Mirador de La Cumbrecita viewpoint. This offers unique insights into the heart of the island and one of the largest erosion craters in the world.
The next stop is the port of Tazacorte. On the way there, we pass through the towns of El Paso, Los Llanos, and Tazacorte, where the conquest began in 1492.
We then head to the most volcanic part of the island, where we pass the Mirador de San Nicolás viewpoint, Las Indias, and the Santo Antonio volcano. On the return journey, we pass Villa de Mazo and Montaña de la Breña.
Return to the starting point.
